"Serendipity II"

How to convey that Serendipity's
An entity to which to bend our knees
And, then, rise up, stand taller than before
No misery remains upon the floor
To seek it is a paradox in terms
When out of sight, its essence slowly firms
All care, concern, and thoughts one should release
To find a lasting, budding innner peace
To step as lightly through all space and time
And bring to wonder hearts that fill with rhyme
No marshalling of forces will contend
With heart that's freed, intent to rather spend
A welcoming of grace to take a ride
As Serendipity walks by one's side
No preconceptions force the way it goes
No barriers remain, no tempest throes
To celebrate a life abandon rule
Conceive of life as other than a tool
With surety of will
All havoc now stands still
No enemies to fill
The soul upon a sill
As calm replaces ill
Existence is a conundrum at best
Beyond the sight and sound lies all the rest
A pause is written in life's endless script
To tumble when, at last, the heart is tipped
Discovering that why's an empty phrase
No meaning can portend the endless days
All that we know is written on a point
A palimpsest to which we do annoint
More meaning than is etched within the dot
Expansion comes from knowing we know not
Knowledge is a puff upon the wind
That questioning will always then rescind
A quest, you say, to seek the silent soul
Is what the will must make to make us whole
To build a structure well within the mind
Transcends all structures built of stone and lined
With all the hopes and struggles of our kind
That crumble to the ground, at last, to find
Abandoning of hope's not as it seems
Abandoning of life and all its dreams
Acceptance that all hope in life sustains
When seeking is abandoned, hope remains
The mist will fade, the veil will be removed
A whisper through the heart says all's approved

Excerpt 10 from "Seasons"

The coolness of this ocean morning settles round the soul
Soul wakes to all those wondrous sighs and brings the heart near whole
I’m here to wander through this life, most ways, so all alone
A heart, it stirs, beneath the rain, at last a seed is sown
The haze it lifts, the glare is gone, I glimpse the soul divine
One day, one life, eternally, the heart and soul are mine

Excert 9 from "Seasons"

Ah, this year of seasons, full, has been a troubled one
That wasn’t in the plan at all, that’s life beneath the sun
At last, once more, thank god it is, the coolness will return
For, at least, a little while with no more summer’s burn
You’d say that I was two years old, sometimes, the way I think
As if the summer is now gone and autumn’s on the brink
But, even though I know it’s not, I like to think it’s true
So, there it is, in many ways, I guess I am still two
It’s something I am proud of, and that truly is the case
To keep the wonder, all the bitter gone without a trace
Like children’s eyes I’ll watch this life as long as I can see
For when the pain would linger on, somehow this sets me free
In living isolation is another way to race
But, then, you see, it’s life and love that leave without a trace
I’ll always live with open arms, though empty they may be
Those open arms are also part of that which sets me free

Excerpt 8 from "Seasons"

The seasons, tides, and daylight change, of course, then, so do I
For all the changes in a year, a lifetime in a sigh
As north you go, the more the sunbeams change their willful way
The ebb and flow of tides reflects my moodiness per se
But, seasons come around, once more, to toll the bell of fate
It’s pleasing just to listen close for words that tolerate
The glory of the sun is here, a boon so bright today
The story of a life of which the moon shall wash away

Excerpt 7 from "Seasons"

The boon is farther than I thought
As time does pass away
But bowed and bent, you’ll find me not
This heart does well portray
The changing life, days clear of rain
The wonder time, it comes again
This early, bright and wondrous fall
The tint on leaves just says it all
I’m marching down through endless time
I’ll celebrate these loves of mine
The fickled days will come, I’m sure
To set the scale and bound the cure
But time, it ticks, as clock winds down
The seasons cycle, clock’s rewound
We’ll whirl away with colors strewn
The autumn’s rainbow, fire and dune
Unlike the summer’s prism pure
The red of kiss and sky’s azure

Excerpt 6 from "Seasons"

There’s magic in the season’s change and in the world at large
So many toss the heart a dream with entry free of charge
And on the border with the dream, like ocean to the coast
A deep expanse of hope and prayer will wash the soul foremost
But, even if the snow does fall upon the borderline
The tide will wash away the snow to clear this coast of mine
As open and serene as golden fields in summertime
'Tis where the heart is with a will and leaves the soul sublime

Excerpt 5 from "Seasons"

The killing cold is gone, right now, but still so cold at night
Unburied from the depths of covers still just such a fright
For spring, no time for patience, and, to dally, is quite rare
When limbs they sing, the blood it boils, and heart has not a care
Yet, life just patiently moves on from bud to burst in bloom
And leaves and ferns take their sweet time to, once again, resume
Flaunt beauty and desire today
So roused, again, by Nature's play
A woman at her loving best
I swoon with awe, no time for rest
Her sigh was wind around the trees
Embraced was I by gentle breeze
This was a day in which to seize
Love and life to fully please
In her honor, life burst through
From leaves to ferns to birds that flew
Their song so joyous on the wing
Of perfect days of sun they sing
An ache so deep was felt within
If time one took embracing wind
The lives rush by so many days
But not today, for Nature plays
All it takes on days like this
Is just a pause to feel the kiss
Dirt beneath my fingernails
The world beneath my feet
Flower garden never fails
To liven hearts that beat
Steady on the course of days
Each step you take is next
Focus just on Nature's plays
Of life, no thought perplexed

Excerpt 3 from "Seasons"

The spring came through just yesterday, could feel it like a fist
Like checkmate on a chessboard, Spring is now upon the list
Like bells inside a tower ring to call those faithful few
To come and celebrate, right now, for god is in the pew
"For I am here", Spring shouts for all, "let be no slightest doubt!
Winter's gone for sure and good, in disarray and rout!
Some skirmishes are left to fight, a battle here and there
But, for the scarves and knitted hats, give not the slightest care"

Excerpt 2 from "Seasons"

A tale of a year in the life.  Closing stanza addressing the reader.

Yes, we've wandered far this year from hearts to star and leaf
And walked the change and beach and woods, spent little time on grief
We’ve heard the waves and saw the surf and felt the heartstrings tug
No time is left to flicker on, just lead away with hug
It feels as if we’re parting ways so, deep within, I sigh
Our hearts have paced a little while but, now, I say, goodbye
The time moves on and I do too
And, loving, deeply so, still true
I step, once more, to give a try
And hear the seagull's lonely cry
I offer up this whirlwind sigh
Enough to love, enough to try
For always will I stay the course
No loss of love and no remorse
